About Chess Maze
Chess Maze is an original browser game from DotPerfect Studio. The idea is simple to say and particular to build: take the movement of chess pieces, drop them on 3D maze islands, and ask the player to collect, unlock, and finish with a low move count.
It started as a puzzle experiment — what if a rook’s slide and a knight’s leap were maze verbs instead of attacking tools? That question became a custom movement engine, voxel biomes, official chapters, a level editor, and a community submission pipeline. The playable game is at play.chess-maze.com. This domain is the public face of that project: what the game is, how it works, and how to reach the people who ship it.
What is original here
Chess Maze is not a licensed chess client, not a daily puzzle scraped from master games, and not a generic block-pusher with a knight icon. Boards have their own shapes. Pieces keep legal chess movement, including pawn double-steps from a level start square. Gadgets — keys, colored locks, pressure plates, letter spells, transform tiles — are designed around those rays and leaps, not pasted on top of a grid walker.
Official chapters walk through biomes: a tutorial meadow, Forest Paths, Castle Siege, and Deep Ocean. Each chapter is a set of handmade levels, not a random dungeon. Players can then publish their own mazes. That mix — authored campaign plus sandbox — is the product.
Who we are
DotPerfect Studio is an independent game studio. Chess Maze is our 3D puzzle game for the web. We care about readable rules, fair fail states, and a builder that matches the live engine, so a community level behaves like an official one.
We are not a content farm and we are not a clone mill. The guides on this site are written about this game: the same locks, plates, and chapters you will find in the client.
